Nairobi National Park was established in 1946, only seven kilometers from the Nairobi city center, is the first national park in East Africa, but also the world''''s only national park located in the capital city. 

 

 

 

The park covers an area of 117 square kilometers, more than 100 kinds of mammals and more than 400 kinds of unique migratory birds in this habitat, mainly antelope, zebra, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, wildebeest, hippos, rhinos, lions, bison, orangutans, baboons, ostriches, guinea fowl and so on. This is a "semi-open" park, a lot of animals such as wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, antelope, often of movement inside and outside in the park and leave the rainy season, dry season to move back. To this end, the southern part of the park did not set up any blocking, as animal migration channel. In order to protect the African elephant, the Government of Kenya is strictly prohibited the trade of ivory and ivory products. In 1989, President Moi personally fire burned 25 tons of ivory and other hunting products at the Nairobi National Park. To commemorate this famous action, the inner ring of parks remain ivory burning ground, and set up a monument. Nairobi National Park and there are no elephants, it is only the absence of large animals. In 1963, the park next to the opened animal orphanage, shelter, treatment of abandoned small animals and injured animals until they have the viability of the return to nature.

Best tourist season:
Each year from March to July, and December to next March. Nairobi twice a year the rainy season, and is not suitable for tourism. The long rainy season in late March to mid-June, the short rains in late October to early December, the tourist season from December to March and from July to September.
